Exclude the bad supply ID / site ID in Pushground

The buyer pastes a comma-separated list of Supply IDs (e.g. 234) or Site IDs (e.g. 234-19, 234-23) into the blacklist field under Targeting on the Create/Edit Campaign page; blacklisting can also be automated via Pushground’s automatic rules or third-party trackers.

01 / SIGNAL

How bot traffic slips in through Pushground zones.

Pushground is a self-service network selling push notification, in-page push and pop traffic, with push and pop bought on CPC bids. Its traffic is split by Supply ID, the feed sending it, and Site ID, the website or placement inside that supply that collected the subscriber. Both are units you whitelist, blacklist and auto-rule, and Pushground passes them as {supply_id} and {site_id}. ValidVisit captures them with {campaign_id}, {creativity_id} and {click_id}, and judges every visit Valid or Invalid with its evidence, so each Site ID gets its own invalid share.

Push quality is set where the subscriber was collected, which on Pushground is the Site ID. One site can send real people while another under the same supply sends mostly automated clicks, and a Supply ID average blends the two. Because {site_id} rides on every click, ValidVisit attributes each visit’s verdict to its site, so you can cut one placement before you consider the whole feed.

Pushground counts a click whenever it crosses its gateway, even if the visitor never reaches your landing page, and calls a 1–10% click loss against a tracker normal. Its pixel’s Content View event shows how many clicks loaded your page; the verdict shows whether the visits that did arrive came from people.

What to watch on Pushground

Site ID ({site_id}) invalid share

Rank active Site IDs by invalid share. Sites well above your campaign baseline are candidates for the Site ID blacklist, which Pushground also lets you fill straight from the campaign stats page.

Supply ID ({supply_id}) versus its sites

If a supply’s invalid visits sit in one or two Site IDs, blacklist those. Blacklist the Supply ID only when the problem runs across its sites, because that cuts every site under it.

Content View beside the verdict

Pushground suggests blacklisting zones whose Content View shows high click loss. Their invalid share tells you whether the visits that did load were automated as well.

02 / VERDICTS

What Pushground lets you judge by.

Publisher / site / zone

Invalid share broken down by:

  • Supply ID {supply_id}The supply (feed). Blacklisting it cuts every site under it.
Placement / widget

Invalid share broken down by:

  • Site ID {site_id}The site or placement inside a supply; blacklisting it leaves the rest of the supply running.

Per-click id: Pushground passes a unique click id, and ValidVisit stores it with each visit, so a verdict traces back to the click in Pushground’s own reports.

FAQ

Pushground traffic quality, answered.

How do I blacklist a supply source in Pushground?

On the Create/Edit Campaign page, open the Targeting section and paste a comma-separated list into the blacklist (or whitelist) field. It takes Supply IDs (e.g. 234) or Site IDs (e.g. 234-19, 234-23). The blacklist wins over the whitelist: a Supply ID on both lists sends no traffic.

Which Pushground macros should I put in my URL?

{site_id} and {supply_id}, the two units Pushground blacklists, plus {campaign_id}, {creativity_id} and {click_id}. Pushground marks the older {source} macro as deprecated: it was not unique and only made sense next to the Supply ID, which is why Site ID combines the two.

Can I exclude IP addresses in Pushground?

Pushground does not describe an IP blacklist field. Advanced targeting has an IP White List that takes IPv4 addresses or CIDR ranges separated by commas, and IP source appears in its list of whitelist and blacklist options, but the documented exclusion lists are Supply ID and Site ID. Targeting also covers OS and OS version, browser, language, device, network type, carrier and user freshness.

Can Pushground pause a bad site automatically?

Yes, if you track conversions. Automatic rules apply to Offer, Supply, Freshness or Site Id, check spend, CTR, conversions or ROI over a window of up to 72 hours, and pause or change the bid. Pushground recommends waiting 1–3 days, or around 2–3 times your payout in spend, before blacklisting a source; the verdict is there from the first visits.
