ValidVisit vs PureGuard

Bot traffic protection built for pop, push and native media buyers. Here’s an honest, side-by-side look at how ValidVisit compares on detection depth, transparency, extra-hop requirements and ad-network coverage.

How ValidVisit works →
Choose ValidVisit if

You want auditable measurement: every visit judged Valid or Invalid across 100+ data points, attributed to the publisher, zone and placement that sent it — including the native, push and pop networks.

Choose PureGuard if

Blocks bots at the click before they reach your offer, and on its Pro plan pushes bad zones into ad networks through their own exclusion APIs.

Many teams run both: a blocker for automated exclusion, ValidVisit for independent per-visit evidence across every paid source.

02 / WEDGE

What you get that a blocker doesn’t.

Genuine humans pass, bots stand out — and every verdict comes with its evidence.

Valid / Invalid

An auditable verdict on every visit, built from 100+ data points.

48 networks

Attribution across the native, push and pop channels where invalid traffic concentrates.

No funnel hop

One lightweight script — nothing added to your click path.

03 / TRADE-OFFS

Where PureGuard is stronger.

Blocks bots at the click before they reach your offer, and on its Pro plan pushes bad zones into ad networks through their own exclusion APIs.

If you want exclusions pushed straight into the ad platform automatically, PureGuard does that. ValidVisit never will: it detects, judges and attributes, and the decision to cut a source stays with you.

04 / IN DEPTH

ValidVisit vs PureGuard, in depth.

PureGuard is the one bot traffic tool we found built specifically for media buyers on pop, push and native. You point your campaign URL at its click handler; it checks each visitor inline, sends accepted traffic on to your offer and blocked traffic to a quarantine URL. It builds zone intelligence from what it sees, and on its Pro plan it pushes zones it confirms as bad into your ad network through the network’s own exclusion API, then reads them back to check the block landed. Every plan includes shadow mode, which watches without blocking, and it runs Zone Truth, a free checker for one zone at a time. Blocking at the click and automated zone exclusion are real strengths, and ValidVisit does neither: it never writes to your ad accounts. ValidVisit is one script on your landing page that judges each paid visit Valid or Invalid and attributes it to the campaign, publisher, zone or widget that sent it. The verdict blocks nothing; traffic rules you set tag or send away visitors by country, data-center hosting or VPN, and can block whole countries at your own firewall.

Quarantine at the click vs a verdict on arrival

PureGuard decides before your landing page exists for the visitor. Its docs describe the flow plainly: traffic source, then PureGuard’s entry point, then either your offer URL or a quarantine URL. A blocked bot never loads your page or reaches your offer, which is exactly what you want when an offer owner is watching your traffic quality.

ValidVisit decides nothing at the click, because it is not there. The script on your page judges the visit: what arrives and what happens once the page has loaded. A bot that never loads a page is outside its view; how a visitor behaves on the page is inside it.

For visitors you already know you don’t want, ValidVisit has traffic rules: countries, data-center hosting connections and VPN connections. Every match is tagged and counted, and you can have matched visitors sent to another page once the page has loaded. For countries, the settings page writes a firewall rule you paste into your own CDN or firewall to block them outright. The verdict itself never blocks. If stopping bots before they touch your funnel is the requirement, PureGuard is built for it.

Zone exclusion sync vs a cut-list you paste

PureGuard’s Pro plan adds automated network exclusion sync: zones its zone intelligence confirms as bad supply are pushed into your ad network through that network’s exclusion API, and where a network offers no such API it produces ready-to-paste lists instead. On networks with that API, the loop closes with no manual step.

ValidVisit never writes to an ad account, on any network. It ranks your sources worst-first, each visit judged Valid or Invalid with evidence in your dashboard, and hands you the list to paste into the network’s blocklist. Blocking bad sources by network shows where it goes on PropellerAds, Zeropark, RichAds and the rest.

The manual step is slower. It is also the moment you can tell a zone that had one bad day from one that is structurally bad, or keep a zone that converts despite a high invalid share. And because ValidVisit covers search, social and native as well as push and pop, the same report judges the rest of your media plan.

Free, Pro and Unlimited vs visit-based plans

PureGuard’s pricing, checked September 2026, starts with a Free plan of 100,000 checks a month, shadow mode included. Pro is $79 a month for 5 million checks and adds the exclusion sync, zone verdicts and data export. Unlimited is $299 a month with no cap, adding pre-bid scoring for OpenRTB traffic, custom detection rules, a self-hosted option and an SLA. PureGuard defines one check as one visit or API call evaluated by its engine. For a pop or push buyer at volume, that is a generous allowance.

ValidVisit costs $59, $99 or from $299 a month, billed on visits judged, with the full engine, source attribution and traffic rules on every plan; plans differ by visits, sites and data retention (see pricing). There is no free plan.

The deciding question is whether you want a tool in the click path acting for you, or an independent record of each visit, its verdict and its source that you act on yourself.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is PureGuard’s shadow mode, and is ValidVisit similar?+
Shadow mode runs PureGuard alongside your traffic without blocking anything, logging what it would have blocked so you can see the waste before switching protection on. ValidVisit’s verdict works that way all the time: it judges every visit and never blocks. The difference is the unit and the view. PureGuard judges at the click; ValidVisit judges the visit on your page and files it under the zone, publisher or widget that sent it.
Does PureGuard push zone blocks into my ad network?+
On its Pro plan and above, yes, where the network has an exclusion API: zones it confirms as bad are pushed through that API and read back to verify. Elsewhere it gives you lists to paste. ValidVisit never pushes anything into an ad network. It hands you a worst-first list of sources with the evidence, and the exclusion is yours to make.
PureGuard has a free plan. Why would I pay for ValidVisit?+
If you buy only pop and push and want bots stopped at the click, PureGuard’s free plan may be all you need. ValidVisit earns its price when you want a verdict, with evidence, on every visit on your page, the same report across search, social, native, push and pop, and an independent read from outside the click path. That second opinion matters most before you cut a zone that also sends conversions.
Can I run PureGuard and ValidVisit on the same campaign?+
Yes. PureGuard sits in front of the page and ValidVisit on it, so ValidVisit judges exactly the traffic PureGuard accepts. Pass the network’s zone and campaign tokens through PureGuard’s click URL to your landing page, so every judged visit is still attributed to its source. The two cannot conflict over your ad account, because ValidVisit never writes to it and never files refund claims.
