How to block bad publishers (sites) in Taboola
Taboola's quality lives at the publisher-site level: a few sites drive most of the invalid traffic. Here's how to find them and block them yourself in Taboola — using each click's site_id as the unit you act on.
1. Find the bad sites
Taboola passes a site_id on every click that maps 1:1 to the publisher site running your ad. ValidVisit reads that token and scores every click 0–100, then rolls the invalid-traffic rate up by site_id. Sort by bot rate and you have a short list of the specific sites — not campaigns, not creatives — that concentrate the waste.
2. Block them in Taboola
In Taboola Ads, open the campaign and go to Campaign → Site Blocking (also reachable as the Block Sites / Blocked Publishers list). Paste the site IDs ValidVisit flagged into the block list and save. Taboola stops serving your ad on those sites going forward. For repeat offenders across campaigns, maintain a shared block list.
What ValidVisit does and doesn't do
ValidVisit is detection and measurement: it scores the clicks and hands you the exact site IDs to exclude. It does not push the block into Taboola for you — you paste the IDs into Site Blocking, so you stay in control of your account. That separation is deliberate, and it's why the evidence is independent of Taboola's own reporting.
